Elf-nanigans - 12/2/22

Happy Friday Everyone!

I hope your Friday started off good and is going well for you. We have 23 days until Christmas! I need to really kick it into gear and start my Christmas shopping. You know it seems to become harder and harder to shop for my kids.  They already have almost everything they could want and need. What are your kids asking for? Let me know by commenting below.

This morning after getting ready, I opened my bedroom door to go downstairs and I saw the Elf-nanigans that occurred overnight. At the top of my stairs was Buddy the Elf holding toilet paper with a happy grin on his face. He must of proudly send our Elf on the Shelf rolling down the stairs after wrapping him up in TP!

Look at the happy grin on his face.

When I reached the bottom of the stairs and saw the look on Buddy's face, I'd like
to think that he had fun rolling down the stairs. What do you think?

Doesn't he look like he had fun?!

Once I reached the bottom of the stairs and looked at the Christmas tree, I saw that the reindeer and the dog had partook in the Elf-nanigans as well.  Good thing we are stocked up on toilet paper.

Well I hope everyone had fun last night while we slept.  I asked my boys what they thought of the Elf-nanigans, and I was told that they thought it was funny. I guess somewhat amusing to them at 6:30 am before heading off to school.

What has your Elf on the Shelf been up to? Share below!

Come back tomorrow to see what the Elf does tonight!

Welcome Back Buddy & Friends - 12/1/22

This year is a bit more emotional for me, my oldest son is 17 and a Senior in High School and my youngest son is 15 and a Sophomore in High School and now towers over me in height. I really want to make this Christmas season a special one for everyone at home, because well, we don't know what next Christmas will look like for our family, yet I am still finding it a little hard to get in the festive spirit. Normally I am so excited to put up the Christmas tree, even before Thanksgiving, and this year I just was finding it hard to get going. But we finally accomplished it one evening when everyone was home. As usual we found the newest Hallmark ornament for the Year Without A Santa Claus.  If you know me, you might know that the Miser Brothers are two of my favorite characters, they are TOO MUCH!!!

The boys just chilling after decorating the tree.

I even persuaded my husband to hang one ornament. His Dallas Cowboys Ornament.

Our 2022 Christmas Tree!

Last night my youngest son and I were in the kitchen and we made Puppy Chow! It was so yummy!
I really enjoy cooking and making things with my kids. It has been a tradition for a long time. I used to help my mom and grandma make holiday treats and then my kids helped. I hope one day they carry on the tradition. But it warmed my heart to be able to do this with my son last night.
Puppy Chow

In case you would like the recipe, here it is:
1 stick of butter
3/4 Skippy Peanut Butter
3/4 Semi-sweet Chocolate Chips
6 Cups of Crispex (Chex will do as well)
1/2 bag Powdered Sugar

Measure ingredients (butter, peanut butter, chocolate chips) and melt, add in 6 cups of dry cereal, coat each piece of cereal with mixture and then top with powdered sugar. I use my Fix-in-mix bowl from Tupperware and we will put the seal on the bowl and shake up everything until each piece is coated as seen above. Then place to dry, we used a baking sheet with parchment paper.

Today marks December 1, 2022 and our Elf on the Shelf came back with his friends. Normally he returns the day after Thanksgiving, and the boys even mentioned that they hadn't seen him yet, but this year he decided to return today.  Buddy our Elf looks like he is kicked back and chilling while his furry friends look mighty hungry and ready to eat the message made out of M&M's that reads, Did you miss us?  Certainly you couldn't miss them as they are just below the TV.

Buddy the Elf and his furry friends return!

I am not sure how the boys reacted this morning as they are up and out the door for school before I get a chance to get downstairs to see them off. But let me tell you, I remember them waking up every morning when they were much younger and the first thing they could think of was the elf and what mischief he got into. Seeing their faces in the morning after finding the elf and the messes he made were always such a joy and truly Christmas magic.

Welcome Back Buddy & Friends!!

Chocolate droppings. 11/27/17

My wonderful two boys are 12 and 10 years of age now and I have not had to clean up any sort of turds for a long time. Well this morning the boys found Buddy the Elf and Teddy the reindeer in the bathroom. Well it looks like Teddy might have had too much snow yesterday! There were many reindeer droppings on the top of my recently cleaned toilet.  Buddy looks like he is getting ready to clean up after his pet reindeer. I will applaud him for that. This Elf and his Reindeer are so silly.

At least it doesn't smell! LOL!

At least they made into the bathroom. My dog isn't that smart sometimes.

Instant Snow! 11/26/17

Sorry for not posting this sooner! But Sunday, November 26th was a crazy day! I heard our youngest son, Logan, wake up and the first words out of his mouth were, "Where is Buddy and what did he do today?". He went in search of this Elf and the Reindeer, he searches in each room until he finds him. Well it just so happens that on Sunday morning, Buddy and Teddy were in the kitchen making a mess.  Logan, comes and tells me that they made a mess in the kitchen and of course I had to make a small big deal out of the mess these little Santa's helpers make. I think my kids get a kick out of seeing me kinda make a silly big deal over it.
Don't you just love the apron on Buddy and the Chefs hat on Teddy? They look so cute!!

Day 5: Trap Team

Dylan and Logan woke up to find Buddy the Elf taped to the glass on the entertainment center in the living room. I think that Buddy made them mad and they trapped Buddy and ganged up around him to make sure that he doesn't escape!

Skylanders are all around making sure that this crazy elf doesn't escape!
The Skylanders have taped Buddy to the glass on the entertainment center! Wonder what he did to make all the Skylanders mad??

It's like a mob!!

They are EVERYWHERE!!!

Day 4: dentist elf

Nothing to crazy today for our Elf. We found him in the bathroom holding a toothbrush and some toothpaste. He had wrote a note on the mirror to Brush your teeth!
Thanks Buddy, but the boys brush twice daily!

My Mom was so awesome and thoughtful to give a gift to me early!!!! It really was like the best gift ever. It really is the small things that mean the most!
Here he is hanging on the tree!

Then my mother lives to buy the holiday stuff from Hallmark. If it sings, moves, lights up I think she might have it! But this one she bought for the boys.
So basically it can turn the lights on and off to the tree by pushing the leaver down. It really is kinda cute and a neat idea. Thanks mom!!

Day 1: Sleepy Elf

The boys woke up to find Buddy our Elf on the Shelf had returned!!

Buddy must have had a long journey from the North Pole.
The boys found him sleeping in Puffs Kleenex box.
He had left a few notes around the house for the boys as well.

Buddy the Elf sleeping in the tissue box

Here is a special note from Buddy the Elf.
He really wants the boys to be GOOD!!!

Here is another note letting the boys know he is back!
He will report nightly to Santa!!

So Buddy left Logan a note in his room.
He will be letting Santa know that he didn't pick up his room!

Buddy put this on the bathroom door!

Buddy left this on the TV in Dylan's room.
He must think that Dylan needs to
work a little harder on his attitude!
We can't wait to see what kind of pranks he will pull on us this season.  Like the note said, the better the boys are, the better the pranks will be!

Day 3! Where did the under ware go !?

Kids: Mom!!!!!!!
Me: yea?
Kids: Buddy took our under ware and hung them on the tree!!
Me: what!!! Really!! That silly elf!

So today is day 3, and after the attitudes of yesterday, shockingly Buddy the Elf did prank the kids last night.
The boys awoke to seeing their under ware on the Christmas tree!!

We found him on the lamp next to the tree. The boys were actually really good today. They decorated the Christmas Tree at great Grandma's with my cousins kids. They did a pretty good job! Grant, was telling us today that their elf on the shelf was no where to be found this morning. I was informed that they weren't  on their best behavior yesterday so the Elf didn't come back today.  I took this opportunity to remind the kids they need to be GOOD!!!

Day 2! Movie Night with the crew!

I wake up this morning and I hear my two boys talking to Buddy our Elf on the Shelf.  I walked down the hallway and my oldest son Dylan says to me, "MOM!!!! Buddy had a movie night and he is sitting in the chair I made for him out of LEGO's!!"  My youngest son Logan said to me, "Yea and Cody, Stitch and some action figures were watching the movie with him!"  I asked them to tell me what movie it was they were watching. ELF!!!!  Dylan opens up the movie player and the DVD is even in the movie player.  They were amazed at the magic of Buddy the Elf and wondered how they were able to watch the movie, because the movie player didn't turn on.  I told them, Buddy is magic, he can turn the movie player on and off when he wants, he can even make toys come to life.

After a long day of both my kids picking on each other and just getting on my nerves, I told them that Buddy will NOT pull pranks if they are naughty!!

Day 1! Let the pranks begin!!

The magic is in the air. The kids have been doing a count down until BUDDY the ELF comes back to our house!  They kept talking about the pranks he pulled last year and what kind of pranks he will do this year.
Upon awakening this morning, taking sleepy heads to the bathroom, the boys found Buddy and his welcome back message.
BUDDY had taken dry erase markers and drew all over the mirror in the bathroom.  That silly Elf!!
